frequently asked questions

What is a parenting plan?

A parenting plan is a plan for separated parents that can be developed through mediation. It outlines how parents agree to raise their children and includes parenting time, decision-making, and communication.

Yes! We offer mediation for separated parents with both virtual and in-person options. Virtual sessions are held via secure video conferencing, and in-person sessions take place in a neutral, welcoming space.

At Fairhaven Family Mediation, joint mediation involves both parties meeting together with the mediator in the same space. In shuttle mediation, the parties are kept separate, with the mediator moving between them. At Fairhaven Family Mediation, we work with each family to determine which style is best.
